RJ Swartwood

President & CEO · Fractional CHRO

RJ is an HR consultant and Fractional CHRO with about 30 years of HR experience. He founded HR Prime in January 2016 and has since advised more than 20 companies as a Fractional CHRO, giving founders and CEOs the executive HR leadership, culture building and people strategy usually reserved for large companies. Earlier, at First American, he built and led a 140-person national recruiting organization. He holds an MBA and the SPHR certification.

Through the years

In his first year of college, RJ knew he wanted a career in business that had real impact and influence. Starting as an HRIS Specialist with the North County Transit District, he worked his way into all facets of Talent Management. After running HR for Upper Deck, he realized that business acumen was very important to become an HR Leader so he went back and got his MBA. What followed was back-to-back stints at a Fortune 300 Company and a top 1000 Fastest Growing company where he made incredible strides in People Productivity, Engagement and HR Metrics.

Where he got book smart

RJ completed his BA in Industrial Psychology at San Diego State University. He also completed studies in organizational psychology at Murdoch University in Perth, Western Australia. RJ obtained his MBA from California State University San Marcos.

Through the years

After completing college at the University of Iowa, Megan moved to New York City where she worked in administration and HR for 3 years at a pharmaceutical research company, ProPhase, LLC. Megan then transitioned to Motion PT Group where she worked as the Director of Human Resources across multiple East Coast states for almost 4 years.

Megan completed her BA degree in Psychology at the University of Iowa, and continues to broaden her knowledge as an HR professional by attending seminars and trainings on employment and HR law.
